Discovery's Mythbusters Features The Green Hornet with Seth Rogen

From busting different myths that you thought otherwise, Discovery Channel's Mythbusters focuses on the Green Hornet movie myths in tonight's special episode with Seth Rogen.

Getting into action hero mode, the Mythbusters features Seth Rogen, star and co-writer of the 3D action comedy The Green Hornet in tonight's episode - January 28 at 8:00 PM (Friday).

Mythbusters uncover the truth behind popular myths and legends by mixing scientific method with gleeful curiosity and plain old-fashioned ingenuity.  The series, called “the best science show on television,” stars hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, and Kari Byron, Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara.

The Green Hornet Episode

In thsi episode, the team takes on two exciting scenes and clips from the movie, which also stars Taiwanese R&B sensation Jay Chou. Imagine what would happen when some Hollywood scenes are played out in real life.

“I’m a big fan of Mythbusters. We were making a big action movie and it just seemed like the only time we could do something like this.  I watch the show all the time and it just seemed cool to see if the stuff in our movie was possible in any way, shape or form,” said Rogen. 

Rogen and the Mythbusters team takes on two pivotal scenes from the film.  One of which is the “Explosive Escape,” where The Green Hornet and his tech-savvy sidekick Kato are buried alive in the Green Hornet’s iconic car Black Beauty. They blast their way out using the car’s built-in rockets. Adam, Jamie and Seth re-create this explosive silver screen scene.

January 28 at 8:00 PM, MYTHBUSTERS features a Green Hornet Special episode with star and co-writer of action comedy The Green Hornet, Seth Rogen. The MYTHBUSTERS team taking on two exciting scenes from the upcoming January motion picture release.

The Green Hornet and his tech-savvy sidekick Kato are buried alive in the Green Hornet’s iconic car Black Beauty and blast their way out using the car’s built-in rockets.  Adam, Jamie of Mythbusters and Seth re-create this explosive silver screen scene.

Second is the “Elevator Car Cut.” The Green Hornet and Kato again find themselves in a jam. Seth requests that Kari, Grant and Tory take on this action sequence from the movie. After being shot at, they crash into an elevator which ascends and slices the car in half. It leaves them to escape in the front half of the car.

To put this scene in the mythbuster case, the team build their own elevator from 3 ½ tons of steel, chop a car in half and take half a car to the racetrack.
