And So It Ends; Farewell Harry Potter

It was the start of the end as the last installment of the Harry Potter movie series - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 - found its way to the silverscreen around the world last July 14, 2011.

After almost a decade of magic and enchantment, the Harry Potter movie series bade goodbye to its millions of fans and followers around the globe as it gave conclusion to the long standing battle of good and evil in the world of magic.

Harry himself confessed in an interview that their trio (Daniel, Emma, Rupert) did have their share of tears as the series ended saying: "There was lots of crying for Emma, Rupert and I, and the crew as well because a lot of them have been there for 10 years as well. So, there were lots of tears from everybody, really. It was very sad. And, at the time, I remember sort of being quite inconsolable for like two hours"

With regards to the movie itself, it was a roller-coaster ride of excitement and realizations. Undeniably, there were a lot of exciting parts in terms of magical actions and development in contrast to the Part 1. But in between, there were also calm scenes where the story unfolds and reveals a realization - some sort of explanation for most of the previous series' mysteries for the non-book reader.

Here is the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows official trailer in HD:

I say it was a satisfactory ending for the longstanding and highly successful Harry Potter movie franchise. Barely in its fourth day of screening this weekend, I believe Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 will break all its predecessors movie records in terms of numbers. In fact it has already broken the largest opening day record in the U.S box office with 92.1million dollars way beyond "The Twilight Saga: New Moon's"  72.7million.

Many thanks to Warner Bros Pictures for the advanced press screening invitation last July 12, 2011 held at the IMAX theater of SM Mall of Asia. Here are some photos from that night including actual costumes used in the earlier movies.

I highly recommend that you watch it in 3D as much as you can for the final and ultimate Harry Potter movie experience. You will surely enjoy Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2!

  1. Hi there! I'd like to ask if those costumes were rented(if yes, can I ask for the details?) or custom made? Thanks.
