The subtitle should have been Toy Story 3: "Never Giving Up."
I believe that the former was only adopted for promotion purposes, for a positive vibe; it's primarily an animated movie for children after all.
Toy Story 3 starts off with a new phase in life for toy owner Andy who is soon departing for college. This should be an exciting point in his life, except that he seemed to have outgrown his 'toy' friends; or so they thought.
The series of adventures for Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the rest of the gang starts from hereon as they find themselves in a daycare center and meeting new 'friends' including Barbie's counterpart Ken, the cute Peas-In-A-Pod, the scary Big Baby, Bookworm and a pink-ish and huggable-looking teddy Lots-D' Huggin' Bear.
The movie, as expected, was visually superb coming from Disney Pixar Animation Studios and enhanced by viewing it in IMAX 3D of SM North Edsa - thanks to Warner Brothers' invitation and SM Cinema.
I admire the plot developement and multiple story highlights. Just when I thought the climax was over, the viewer is led furhter to the edge of his seat in anticipation of the next scene and the director was very successful in this area.
This same complexity was able to entertain the adults while the children enjoy the visual 'cartoon adventure.'
It was a seesaw ride of adventure and twists as the Toy Story gang fight it out over vicious obstacles. While Woody obviously led the group, Buzz provided the truly effective comic relief with his 'Spanish'
Tearjerkers
I have a confession to make. I didn't expect an animated movie can make me shed a tear or two, much less if it's a story about toys. Well, not until Toy Story 3. :)
I learned that saying goodbye, letting go, and moving-on is not that bad. A farewell can be the knob in opening a new relationship you will find wanting.

I highly recommend Toy Story 3 for the whole family. Witness the gang's 'Great Escape' and Ken's huge walk-in closet full of fashionable clothes. :) It opens in local theaters nationwide today - June 17, 2010. Get a better viewing experience with IMAX 3D available in SM North Edsa and SM Mall of Asia.
