War Through A Horse's Eye

It's a different war story. It's a different horse's story; a miraculous one actually - a War Horse.

I thought it would be just like any other war-themed and over-stretched drama movie. Or something like a feel-good movie with a care-for-animals story.

It was more than that.

Led by young lad and horse tamer named Albert (Jeremy Irvine), Joey (the horse) found a good master , and friendship, that survives through a war. The movie continues to reveal the painful realities of war and it's effects on family, relationships, and the lives of soldiers and ordinary men of all ages. It also showed the important role of horses and the abusive treatment they receive in war time.

"War, takes away everything, from everyone," says one of the antagonists.

Golden Globe Best Motion Picture of the Year (Drama), Best Original Score, and 7 Critics' Choice Award Nominations best Picture of the Year, among others, the movie "War Horse" will be shown exclusively in selected SM Cinemas starting February 29, 2012. This includes SM North EDSA, SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, SM Marikina, SM Fairview, SM Cebu, SM Iloilo, and SM Olongapo. It shall also be shown in all SM Digital Cinemas nationwide March 1 onwards.

SM Cinema will start selling tickets for War Horse on February 20. Movie goers get 50% discount on movie ticket when they buy tickets from Feb 20-28 from 10am-2pm screenings on the first week of showing.

'War Horse' is a story about a horse, a boy, his family, and the people they met amidst the ravages of war. More importantly, it was how their lives were touched by 'the miracle.'
