Rent, The Musical Celebrates “Seasons of Love” at Power Plant Cinema

Celebrate the “Seasons of Love” with Rent, the Musical as Power Plant Cinema celebrates its 10th Anniversary.

Bringing back the award-winning Broadway musical to Manila, Rent is the story of young Bohemians Mark, Roger, Maureen, Tom Collins, Angel, Mimi, Joanne, and their friends, all-struggling to create and survive in the time of the AIDS disease. Based on Giacomo Puccini’s La Boheme and set on the Lower East Side of New York City, Rent lives on, along with the affirmation that there is “no day but today.”
Socially relevant, youthful, and moving, Rent gained critical acclaim and won a Tony Award for Best Musical, among others. It closed on September 7, 2008, ending a 12-year run and 5,124 performances. It was the ninth-longest-running Broadway show by that time, ten years behind The Phantom of the Opera as of December 2009. The production grossed over $280 million.
