Kick Ass movie is truly a kick ass movie. I went to its premiere not expecting much, but came out overwhelmed.
I thought I would just be enjoying a good laugh from a silly movie of trying hard Marvel look-alike superheroes.
I was wrong.
The story opened with an ordinary individual named Dave Lizewski, played by Aaron Johnson, who eventually became Kick-Ass. Simply said, Kick-Ass is an ordinary school teen who wants to stand up for what's right and help those in need - a generic charactristic of a super hero.
However, being a superhero is not that simple. Life became a little bit more complicated as he met other underground superheroes Hit Girl and Big Daddy, played by Chloƫ Grace Moretz and Nicolas Cage. Moreso after crossing path with Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse).
Although laden with violent action scenes and pervasice language, the scenes can be passed of as something cool, awesome, and kick ass. Plot and subplot developments were also commendable given the backdrop of a simplistic superhero movie.
I recommend this two hour movie to be watched with your group of friends on the big screen and cheer together as our beloved superheroes kick some ass. Do note however that the Kick Ass movie is rated R for violence and language, something not for children or the conservative.
